Dr. Kristina Pirker holds a PhD in Latin American Studies from UNAM and is a researcher at the Dr. José María Luis Mora Research Institute. She specializes in social movements, political violence, and transnational activism in Central America and Mexico. Currently, she coordinates seminars on violence studies and geopolitics at the Mora Institute and collaborates with the University of Quintana Roo.
