Kristina Lindvall is an Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology and Global Health, Umeå University. She holds a PhD in Public Health from Umeå University (2013) and specializes in Qualitative Methodology, Public Health, and Nutrition. Her research focuses on Weight Maintenance strategies in diverse populations (e.g., Västerbotten, Sweden and Upstate New York, US), Risk Communication related to Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Climate Change, and Complex Interventions leveraging digital technologies.

Her work integrates social media, behavioral change theories, and digital innovations to address public health challenges. Recent projects explore improving health systems for vulnerable preschool children and sustainable behavior change through adaptive digital coaching (STAR-C project). She also leads research on social-ecological transformations in East African drylands (Drylands Transform project).
