Kristina Gustafsson is an Associate Professor in Social Work at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki, since January 2025. Previously, she worked as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Lund University and Linnaeus University for 20 years combined.
Research Focus:
- Social work and migration
- Language, communication, and interpreting
- Linguistic justice in welfare systems
- Decolonial and postcolonial theory
- Ethnographic methods
Active Projects:
- Linguistic justice, global migration and the Nordic Welfare State (Swedish Research Council, 2023-2027)
- Global ANSWER (H2020-MASCA-RISE, 2023-2025)
Key Collaborations: Partnerships with Palermo University, Stockholm University, Södertörn University, and organizations in South Africa.
