Kristina Garner is an Associate Professor in Law and Widening Participation Academic Lead at the University of East Anglia's School of Law. As an alumna of the institution, she returned in 2012 after working with the HEFCE Aimhigher initiative. Her role combines teaching on modules like English Legal Process and Principles of Criminal Law with leading the Faculty of Social Sciences' Widening Participation strategy. She coordinates initiatives such as academic taster days, student mentoring programs (e.g., 'Shadow a Student'), and collaborative projects with local charities.
Her research focuses on systemic barriers to higher education access and professional entry, particularly for underrepresented groups. She develops outreach materials for pre-university students, emphasizing study skills and curriculum-linked sessions.
