Kristin Veel is a Professor in the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Humanities, specializing in digital technologies' impact on cultural imagination and history. She co-leads the INTERSECT research hub and directs projects on smart home abuse, bio-machines, and human-AI collaboration.
Her research examines data-tracking's invisibilities across film, art, literature, and design using aesthetic theory and practice-based methodologies. Current work focuses on intersectional approaches to surveillance, urban equity, and redefining machine 'life' through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Recent publications (2024-2025) analyze machine vision ethics, archival infrastructures, and domestic technology vulnerabilities, emphasizing critical perspectives on AI and social justice.
