معرفی
Kristin Perry, Ph.D., serves as a postdoctoral fellow in the Prevention and Methodology Training (PAMT) program at The Pennsylvania State University's Department of Psychology, collaborating with Drs. Rina Eiden and Stephanie Lanza to advance quantitative approaches for studying physiology-environment interactions in externalizing behavior development.
Her academic preparation includes:
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology under Dr. Jamie Ostrov's mentorship
- Clinical Internship with child emphasis at University of Mississippi Medical Center
Dr. Perry's research integrates developmental and clinical psychology through investigations of early childhood aggression trajectories, prenatal substance exposure impacts, and autonomic nervous system coordination. Her work employs sophisticated longitudinal modeling to dissect how peer relationships, parenting behaviors, and physiological reactivity jointly influence behavioral outcomes, with particular attention to high-risk populations and critical developmental transitions like kindergarten entry.
Analysis of her 2023-2025 publications reveals three dominant research threads: (1) prenatal programming of child neurobehavioral outcomes through substance exposure and maternal mental health factors, (2) multi-system physiological reactivity (particularly parasympathetic function) in emotion regulation and substance use contexts, and (3) social-ecological models of aggression incorporating peer dynamics, family environment, and child temperament. Her methodological signature involves innovative application of latent profile analysis and actor-partner interdependence modeling.
As a PAMT fellow, Dr. Perry actively contributes to team science initiatives including the "paper chase" training exercise for collaborative manuscript development. Her research bridges psychology, pediatrics, and public health through partnerships like the ACT NOW Study on infant discharge decisions, with emerging focus on transgender health disparities and evidence-based training implementation for professionals working with children.
