Kristin Farley

Kristin Farley, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Wittenberg University since 2018. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses focusing on children’s language, literacy development, and reading. Her research examines early childhood educators’ practices to support young learners’ developmental needs, particularly in diverse socioeconomic contexts.

Education background: B.S., M.S. in Early Childhood Development and Education, and Ph.D. in Reading and Literacy in Early and Middle Childhood, all from The Ohio State University.

Research interests emphasize effective instructional strategies for language and literacy, equity in education, and early childhood teacher preparation. She has presented at conferences like the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading and National Association for the Education of Young Children, contributing to both research and practitioner communities.

Prior experience includes 10 years as a preschool teacher in central Ohio and teaching at The Ohio State University. Her work integrates practical classroom insights with scholarly research to address systemic educational challenges.
