Kristin C. Theut-Newa

Kristin C. Theut-Newa is the Director of Legal Research and Writing and an Associate Professor (Teaching) of Law at Wayne State University School of Law. She has been affiliated with the university since 1999. Prior to academia, she practiced law in Michigan for over a decade, specializing in commercial litigation and corporate law non-litigation areas.

She holds a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. Her academic focus centers on legal research, writing, and pedagogy, reflected in her long-term teaching of courses such as Legal Research and Writing and Advanced Legal Writing.

Her professional background combines practical legal experience with educational leadership, emphasizing the integration of real-world legal skills into academic instruction.
