Kristin Baughman is a Clinical Associate Professor of Law at the University of Utah’s College of Law. She joined the faculty in the 2024 academic year after 18 years of practice in commercial litigation and appeals, most recently at Dentons Durham Jones Pinegar in Salt Lake City. She holds a JD from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School (2007) and previously taught legal writing there.
Her expertise spans Business & Corporate Law, Litigation, and legal education. At Utah Law, she teaches Legal Methods to 1L students and upper-level litigation skills courses. She emphasizes precision in legal writing and oral advocacy, believing these skills are pivotal in shaping case outcomes.
Baughman is deeply committed to student mentorship, praising their 'energy, brilliant minds, and good hearts.' She collaborates with Utah Law’s faculty, noted for their dedication to student success. Outside academia, she enjoys family time, sewing, and advocating for the Oxford comma.
