Kristin Brandl is Associate Professor of International Business at the University of Victoria's Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, with affiliations at Copenhagen Business School and University of Pretoria. Her research examines how national and supranational policies shape global business environments, with particular focus on developing economies and innovation in global value chains.
Research Focus:
- Impact of international policy frameworks on firm strategy
- Knowledge sourcing in service innovation
- Sustainable development through global value chains
- Institutional complexity in emerging markets
Brandl's work has been recognized with multiple awards including the 2022 Gustavson Scholar Excellence in Research Award and EliteForsk Stipend from the Danish government. She serves as Area Editor for the Journal of International Business Policy and holds leadership roles in the Academy of International Business.
Education & Affiliations: MSc in International Business (Gothenburg University), PhD (Copenhagen Business School). Visiting positions at Cornell, Oxford, and UNCTAD. Research funded by SSHRC Insight Grant examining policy impacts on business environments.
