Kristin Bevilacqua, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Scientist in the Department of Population, Family, and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work bridges public health research, gender equity, and migration, with a strong focus on gender-based violence and women’s reproductive health.

Her research integrates mixed-methods and causal inference to examine how migration affects women’s risk of violence and to develop effective prevention strategies for gender-based violence among migrant populations in the U.S. and globally. She also investigates housing interventions for survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence prevention on college campuses.
Her recent publications show a strong trend in understanding intimate partner violence, especially during the pandemic, among vulnerable populations such as adolescent girls in Kenya and Latina immigrants in the U.S. Her work frequently employs mixed-methods designs, combining qualitative insights with statistical rigor to inform policy and practice.
