Kristie Chandler is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Human Development and Family Science at Samford University's Orlean Beeson School of Education. She has over 15 years of experience in student affairs across institutions including Mississippi State University, Texas Christian University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her teaching focuses on Marriage and Family, Family Law/Public Policy, and Child Development Education.

Her research emphasizes experiential learning in higher education and advocating for family-friendly public policies. Chandler has led multiple grants, including the 2018 Alabama First Class Pre-K Classroom PPVT Evaluator project.
