Associate Professor Kristian Rotaru is a decision scientist at Monash Business School's Department of Accounting. He holds dual PhDs in Economics and Accounting Information Systems, plus psychology qualifications. His interdisciplinary research bridges accounting, finance, cognitive psychology, and information systems, focusing on behavioral interventions and neurocognitive correlates of economic behaviors.
Research interests include:
- Behavioral/Experimental Accounting and Finance
- Risk analytics across accounting, finance and operations
- Neurocognitive aspects of addiction and well-being
- Affective decision-making in economic contexts
He directs the Monash Business Behavioural Laboratory and collaborates with the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health. His work combines experimental methods including eye-tracking, EEG, and virtual reality to study financial behavior.
