Kristi Nourie is an academic affiliated with the University of East Anglia (UEA), holding roles as Associate Tutor in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Senior Research Associate in the School of Education & Lifelong Learning. She is a member of the EdTech Teacher Agency research group. Her research focuses on educational technology, teacher agency, and literacy development in primary education. Nourie holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2023), an MPhil from the same institution (2017), and an MEd from Rockhurst University (2008).
Her current project, ETAT: Enhancing Teacher Agency with Technology, explores how educators can effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices. Key research interests include e-textbook engagement in science education, professional development for teachers, and conceptual frameworks for writing pedagogy in primary schools.
Nourie’s peer-reviewed articles address topics like ‘good’ writing constructs in primary education and the role of technology in teacher training. She actively contributes to academic discourse through conference presentations and journal peer-reviewing roles (e.g., Education Inquiry). Her work bridges theoretical research and practical classroom applications, emphasizing student-centered learning and educator empowerment.
