Kristen Watt

Kristen Watt is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo, based in the RCC Owen Sound – Grey Bruce region. She holds a pharmacy practice background spanning nearly 13 years in Grey Bruce, combining clinical expertise with academic engagement. Her primary affiliation is with the University of Waterloo, where she supervises fourth-year pharmacy student rotations.

Education: Kristen graduated from the University of Toronto (UofT) with a pharmacy degree. Her professional roles have included chain staff pharmacist, independent pharmacy manager, Long-Term Care Consultant Pharmacist, and current ownership of an independent community pharmacy in Southampton. She has transitioned her pharmacy team to an office-based model focused on high-level pharmaceutical care, relying on pharmacy technicians for dispensing.

Research & Practice Focus: Kristen specializes in palliative care, vaccine distribution, opioid/substance-use disorder management, and compounding pharmacy services. She has coordinated regional vaccine distribution during the pandemic and provides palliative care consultation for regional programs. Her continuing education efforts emphasize vaccines, therapeutics, and palliative care.

Community Engagement: Kristen serves on the Grey Bruce Hospice Board of Directors and actively contributes to community care initiatives. Her pharmacy acts as a hub for specialized services like palliative care, substance-use support, and compounding.
