Kristen Kennedy is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Program Head of the Cognitive Neuroscience Track at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). She leads the Kennedy Neuroimaging of Aging and Cognition (KNAC) Lab, focusing on brain and cognitive aging. Her research integrates MRI technology to study Alzheimer's disease, environmental influences, and genetic factors. Kennedy holds a PhD in Psychology from Wayne State University (2007) and has held postdoctoral roles at UTD and the Institute of Gerontology.
Key contributions include investigating white matter connectivity, BOLD modulation in aging, and the impact of vascular health on cognition. She received the 2012 APS Rising Star Award for her work in neurocognitive aging. Current affiliations include adjunct roles at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Alzheimer's Disease Center.
Her academic progression includes tenure as Associate Professor (2018–2023) and promotion to full Professor in 2023. While not currently accepting undergraduates, her lab actively explores lifespan brain changes and interventions to mitigate cognitive decline.
