Kristen Bjork

Kristen Bjork is a Lecturer in the Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology at the University of Central Florida's College of Community Innovation and Education. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology (UNLV), an MS in Educational Psychology (UNLV), an MEd in Elementary Education (University of Florida), and a BS in Psychology (University of Florida). Her career began as a special education science teacher, followed by 12 years as a school psychologist serving students from preschool through high school.

Dr. Bjork's expertise centers on assessment, learning disabilities, and early childhood education. She focuses on applying neuroscience research to educational practices and developing effective early interventions for young learners. Her work emphasizes identifying and supporting students with learning challenges through evidence-based strategies.
