Krista Eschbach

Dr. Krista Eschbach is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Cincinnati, specializing in historical archaeology of Afro-Latin America. Her research examines cultural interaction in colonial contexts using scientific analysis of material culture.

Research Focus: Colonial-era cultural transformations, African diaspora communities, and ceramic technological analysis. Fieldwork includes sites in Mesoamerica and the southeastern United States.

Methodologies: Integrates paleography, digital archaeology, and materials science (particularly ceramic analysis) to study migration and identity formation.
