Krista Couture is a Researcher and Faculty Associate at Arizona State University's Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions, within the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice. Her career spans over a decade in counterterrorism roles, including service as a Counterterrorism Officer at the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), where she held positions as policy analyst, watch officer, and production manager. She also served as a Federal Executive Fellow at the Brookings Institution, researching gendered approaches to CVE in Morocco and Bangladesh.
Education: B.A. in International Affairs (Lewis & Clark College, 2004); Master of Criminology & Justice (Boston University, 2007).
Research focuses on prevention-oriented CVE strategies, youth radicalization, and the role of women/families in counterterrorism. Current work involves developing curricula for practitioners supporting families affected by radicalization, targeting psychologists/social workers and law enforcement officials.
Consulting roles include serving as a CVE Subject Matter Expert at Hedayah (International Center of Excellence on Countering Violent Extremism), advising on capacity-building programs for community engagement and reintegration initiatives.
