Dr. Krishna Gummadi is a tenured Professor and head of the Networked Systems research group at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS) in Germany, holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle.
His research focuses on measurement, analysis, and design of complex Internet-scale systems with emphasis on social computing. Key interests include:

- Word-of-mouth dynamics for viral information dissemination
- Trustworthiness assessment in crowd-sourced information
