Kris Bigalk

Kris Bigalk serves as a Professor and Second Vice Chair (2017–2025) at Normandale Community College, where she founded and directs the nationally recognized Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) in creative writing program—a model for two-year college writing initiatives across the United States.

Her creative scholarship centers on poetry and literary nonfiction, exemplified by published collections Repeat the Flesh in Numbers and Enough (NYQ Books), alongside contributions to The Rumpus, Under Purple Skies: The Minneapolis Anthology, and Good River Review. In 2023, she expanded her literary leadership by assuming directorship of Trio House Press, a publisher specializing in poetry and creative nonfiction.
