Koustav De is a PhD student at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, with a focus on Finance and Economics. His research interests span Asset Pricing, particularly Consumption-Based Asset Pricing, and Behavioral Finance through his work on the Disposition Effect. He has explored Factor Models in cross-sectional returns and has prior experience in Microfinance and Political Economy from fieldwork in Indian villages.
His academic journey began in Calcutta, India, where he studied Engineering at Jadavpur University, followed by an M.S. in Quantitative Economics at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), and a research internship at the Indian School of Business (ISB). His interdisciplinary approach bridges Finance, Economics, and Policy, with a passion for understanding market behaviors and socio-economic inequalities.
At Ross, he actively engages in coursework, collaborates with faculty, and participates in seminars discussing cutting-edge finance research. While his current focus is on academic rigor, he balances his work with the vibrant academic community and diverse cultural experiences in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
