Koundouri Phoebe

Professor Dr. Phoebe Koundouri is a world-leading academic in interdisciplinary systems for sustainable development at the intersection of economics, environmental science, and policy. She holds the Professor position at the School of Economics (Athens University of Economics and Business) and directs the ReSEES Laboratory. Additionally, she serves as Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge's Department of Earth Sciences and leads the Sustainable Development Unit at ATHENA Research Center.

Her research spans the Water-Energy-Food-Emissions Nexus, climate adaptation systems, behavioral economics applications, and sustainable oceans. She has published over 400 scientific papers in journals like Nature and The Lancet, and her work integrates machine learning with policy design, green digital skills, and ecosystem services valuation under climate change scenarios.
