Dr. Kostas Stavrianakis is a Lecturer in the Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University (RGU), affiliated with the Energy, Sustainability & Society Research Group. He holds a PhD in Leisure Behavior from Indiana University (2017-2021), following a PGDip in Ecology (University of Aberdeen, 2004-2005) and a BSc in Environmental Science (Kingston University, 1999-2002). His research focuses on environmental social science, particularly public acceptance of decarbonization technologies like CCUS, and the role of green spaces in wellbeing. Funded by EU Horizon2020, his work examines societal impacts of climate change projects and community engagement strategies. He serves on the World Parks Academy board and supervises PhD research on nature-based solutions in Nepal. Key contributions include advancing understanding of CCUS perception in Greece, stress assessment via mobile apps, and expanding urban sustainability through community gardens and robotics.

Advising: Supervises Nima Acharya Adhikari’s PhD on soil carbon sequestration practices in Nepal (2023-2027).
