Konstantinos Kourtikakis

Konstantinos Kourtikakis is a Teaching Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, holding appointments in the Department of Political Science, European Union Center, and Center for Global Studies. His research focuses on comparative politics, international relations, and European Union governance with particular attention to civil society networks, supranational institutions, and transatlantic relations.

His research interests include the dynamics of European integration, non-state actor influence in EU external policies, and the diffusion of institutional practices through transnational networks. Recent work examines policy coordination mechanisms in transatlantic contexts and civil society engagement in EU neighborhood policies.

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as 'Introduction to Political Science,' 'Governing Globalization,' and 'Politics of the European Union.' He has received multiple teaching awards including the 2024 Provost Award and Clarence A. Berdahl Award (2017, 2021).

Funding: Recipient of sustained Title VI grants (2018-2024), Jean Monnet grants (2011-2021), and EU Center grants (2011-2014). Maintains an office in David Kinley Hall and focuses on bridging academic research with global policy challenges through interdisciplinary collaborations.
