Konstantia Gourzi

Konstantia Gourzi is a Professor of Ensemble Conducting Contemporary Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich (HMTM), affiliated with the Institute for Contemporary Music, Composition and Conducting. Her work bridges composition and conducting, with research focusing on contemporary music, interdisciplinary collaborations, and the intersection of music with social and mythological themes. She founded ensembles like ensemble oktopus to advance contemporary music performance.

Her research explores sonic innovation through diverse musical traditions, nature-inspired soundscapes, and socio-cultural narratives. Key interests include the psychological impact of music, algorithmic composition, and cultural hybridity in artistic expression.
