Dr. Konstans Wells is a Lecturer (Research) in Biosciences at Swansea University, affiliated with the School of Biosciences, Geography and Physics. His research focuses on the consequences of environmental change on biodiversity, wildlife, invasive species, and host-parasite interactions. He teaches modules such as Biodiversity and Health Ecology, emphasizing One Health approaches to address global challenges like disease spread and conservation.
His research spans disease ecology, eco-epidemiology, and conservation biology, with a strong emphasis on applying demographic and epidemiological models to optimize conservation strategies. Recent work includes studies on co-infection dynamics, urban-rural disease gradients, and the impacts of land-use changes on biodiversity.
Dr. Wells collaborates internationally, contributing to projects in Borneo and Europe. He is actively involved in postgraduate supervision, mentoring students on topics like microbiome-parasite relationships and wildlife disease ecology. His work also integrates ecological modeling and field studies to inform policy and management practices.
