Konrad Biszko serves as an Assistant lecturer at the Department of Transportation Engineering within the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Gdańsk University of Technology. He is simultaneously pursuing his PhD at the Doctoral School of GdanskTech, demonstrating his commitment to both teaching and advanced research in transportation systems.
He obtained his magister (Master's equivalent) degree in Transport (Technology) on March 19, 2021, from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Gdańsk University of Technology, establishing his foundational expertise in the field.
Mr. Biszko's research focuses on the critical intersection of transportation engineering and environmental sustainability. His work primarily investigates how microscopic traffic simulations can be leveraged to estimate safety parameters and environmental impacts at signalized intersections. He examines car-following models, energy consumption patterns, and emission calculations, with particular attention to urban transportation systems. His research contributes valuable methodologies for assessing the environmental footprint of transportation infrastructure while maintaining safety standards.
Analysis of his three publications from 2022-2024 reveals a consistent research trajectory centered on applying microscopic traffic modeling to solve practical transportation challenges. His work demonstrates how simulation techniques can bridge the gap between theoretical traffic models and real-world environmental impact assessment, particularly regarding emissions and energy consumption at intersections. The progression shows increasing sophistication in methodology and broader implications for sustainable urban mobility solutions.
Mr. Biszko actively participates in significant research projects, including BATS (Baltic sea region Active mobiliTy Solutions - in darkness and all weather conditions), funded by the European Territorial Cooperation program 2021-2027, and RIDII 2C (A model method of road investment assessment at the STEŚ stage). These projects reflect his engagement with practical applications of his research in regional transportation planning and sustainable development frameworks.
Within the Department of Transportation Engineering, Mr. Biszko contributes to teaching activities (15 teaching units listed) while advancing his research on intelligent transport systems. His work forms part of a larger research ecosystem focused on creating more efficient, safer, and environmentally sustainable transportation networks through advanced modeling techniques.
