Kong Zhe is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director at the Institute of Building Technology and Science, School of Architecture, Southeast University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and completed postdoctoral research at the Singapore University of Technology and Design.
Her research focuses on healthy human-centric lighting environments, integrating urban design, architectural design, building physics, and human factors engineering to study how lighting and visual stimuli affect urban citizens. She has developed a multidimensional evaluation framework and predictive model for optimizing urban and architectural lighting conditions while addressing psychological and physiological needs.
- Principal investigator: NSFC Young Scientists Fund project
- Subproject lead: National Key R&D Program
- Contributor: Nationally planned textbook Building Physics
- 3 invention patents
A standing member of the Indoor Environment Committee under the Chinese Illuminating Engineering Society, her work bridges empirical research with technological innovation in lighting measurement and simulation.
