Komla Avoumatsodo is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2024), an MA in Statistics and Economics from ENSEA, Côte d’Ivoire (2016), and a BSc in Mathematics from the Université de Lomé, Togo (2012). His research focuses on Macroeconomics, with specialties in Development Economics, Economic Growth, International Economics, and Environmental Economics. He has worked as a Research Fellow at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (2023–2024) and as a Statistician Consultant at the World Bank (2016–2018).
Research interests include technology adoption, structural transformation, and the interplay between financial development and economic growth. Current teaching includes Advanced Macroeconomics, International Finance and Sustainability, and Managerial Economics. He supervises students in MA Development Economics and MSc Business Administration programs.
Prior roles include Lecturer positions at the National School of Public Administration of Quebec and the University of Quebec, Montreal. His work bridges theoretical macroeconomic frameworks with applied policy analysis in developing economies.
