Kojiro Umezaki is a Professor and Graduate Director at the University of California, Irvine's Department of Music, specializing in Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology (ICIT). A renowned shakuhachi player and composer, he develops hybrid media/technology systems for live performance and explores intercultural musical practices across historic Silk Road regions. His work extends to robotics, fabrication, and collaborative projects with youth on Northern Cheyenne lands.
