Knut Martin Tande is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Bergen. His research focuses on Copyright Law, Tort Law, Legal Theory, and European Union Law. He contributes to research groups including the Research Group for Legal Theory, Tort Law & Insurance Law, and Information & Innovation Law. Tande teaches courses such as Legal Method, Copyright Law, and Legal Philosophy. His work explores topics like hyperlink liability, judicial precedents in tort law, and legal harmonization across Europe. He frequently publishes in European Tort Law journals and actively participates in academic events addressing research ethics and legal education. Tande’s 2004 doctoral thesis examined digital copyright infringement via hyperlinks, establishing foundational work in cyber law. He maintains ties with legal education initiatives, co-authoring projects to improve lawyer training through linguistic proficiency. His recent work includes analyses of European intellectual property frameworks and social considerations in personal injury compensation.
