Prof. Klaus Wälde is a Professor of Economics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, since 2014. He holds additional academic affiliations, including being an Extra-mural Fellow at the Université catholique de Louvain and a member of CESifo and IZA. His research focuses on macroeconomics, labor markets (including analysis of Germany's Hartz Reforms), and 'Emotional Economics.' He has authored a textbook on Applied Intertemporal Optimization and has held visiting positions at institutions worldwide.
Teaching includes advanced courses such as Macroeconomics II, Behavioral Macroeconomics, and PhD-level seminars on topics like climate change and inequality.
