Prof. Klaus Keller is a Professor for Elementary Design – General Design Principles at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. He holds a Diploma in Visual Communication from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and has extensive experience in freelance design, studio management, and academic roles. His career includes founding graphic design studios, managing art spaces like the Kunsthaus Tacheles and Tankstelle in Berlin, and lecturing in digital prepress and print media production. His work spans graphic design, multimedia installations, and performance art.
Education:
- 1984–87: School of Design, Basel
- 1987–92: Studied Visual Communication at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK)
- 1992: Diploma in Visual Communication
Research interests focus on design principles, visual communication, and interdisciplinary artistic projects combining typography, spatial installations, and performance. Keller has organized art festivals and exhibitions globally, including at the Marseille Art Biennale, Place Pigale Gallery (San Francisco), and multiple venues in Berlin.
He has held roles such as BAföG representative and research assistant at his institution, with a career spanning freelance design, academic teaching, and cultural management.
