معرفی
Klaus Blaum is a Professor and Director of the Stored and Cooled Ions Department at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg. He holds an honorary professorship at Heidelberg University and has held leadership roles in major international collaborations like ISOLDE/CERN and FAIR/GSI. His research focuses on precision mass spectrometry, nuclear structure, and fundamental interactions using Penning traps and storage rings.
- Education: PhD in Experimental Physics from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (2000), Habilitation (2006).
- Research Interests: Precision measurements of nuclear masses, QED tests with highly charged ions, nuclear astrophysics, and antiproton physics.
His work pioneered techniques like phase-imaging mass spectrometry and has led to breakthroughs in understanding nuclear magic numbers, fundamental symmetries, and neutrino masses. He has authored over 600 publications and received awards including the Flerov Prize and Stern-Gerlach Medal.
