Kjellmar Oksavik is Professor and Leader of the Space Physics group at the University of Bergen's Department of Physics and Technology. His research focuses on ionospheric dynamics, particularly polar cap patches, auroral phenomena, and magnetosphere-ionosphere interactions.
Research combines ground-based radar, satellite observations, and optical measurements to study high-latitude plasma structuring.
Currently leads the CASCADE project studying auroral dynamics using EISCAT_3D radar infrastructure.
Frequently contributes to public science communication on space weather and auroral phenomena.
