Prof. Dr. Kjeld Schmidt is a Senior Professor at the Universität Siegen, affiliated with Fakultät III (Wirtschaftsinformatik und Neue Medien). He holds a sociology degree from Lund University (1975), with habilitation in Computer Science (Aarhus University, 1998) and Organizational IT (IT University of Copenhagen, 2006). His research focuses on foundational theories of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), cooperative work practices, and system design for distributed organizations. He has been Editor-in-Chief of the Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) journal since 1992 and has organized major CSCW conferences globally.
