Kiyoshi Igusa is a Professor of Mathematics at Brandeis University, specializing in representation theory, algebra, and differential topology. His research focuses on connecting diverse mathematical fields, such as categorifying the Grassmannian and exploring applications in symplectic topology and representation theory. He has collaborated with Dani Alvarez-Gavela and Eric Hanson (a former student) on significant projects, including refuting the phi-dimension conjecture.
Education: Ph.D. from Princeton University and B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Research interests include representation theory of quivers, cluster algebras, and their topological applications. His work bridges algebraic structures with geometric and combinatorial problems, yielding insights into exceptional sequences, stability conditions, and homological algebra.
