Ray Maresca is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Bowdoin College. His office is located in Searles Science Building, Room 202. He teaches courses including Probability and Advanced Topics in Algebra. Maresca holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Manhattan College, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics/Data Analytics from Manhattan College, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from Brandeis University, where he was supervised by Kiyoshi Igusa.
His research focuses on representation theory of quivers, integrating techniques from combinatorics, category theory, geometric group theory, and algebraic geometry. Recent interests include exceptional collections, simple-minded collections, and Gabriel-Roiter theory. He maintains an active research program with a focus on algebraic structures and their applications.
