Kit N. Simpson is a Professor in the Department of Health Care Leadership and Management at the College of Health Professions and holds a joint appointment in Public Health Science at the College of Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She serves as Director of MUSC’s Comparative Effectiveness Data Analysis Resource (CEDAR) core, managing 7+ terabytes of health services data for faculty research. Her expertise spans economic analysis tied to clinical trials, cost-effectiveness modeling, and leveraging electronic health records (EHR) and billing data for healthcare improvement studies.
Education: DrPH in Health Services Research and MPH in Public Health Policy from the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina.
Research Focus: Dr. Simpson specializes in integrating financial analysis with clinical outcomes, particularly through large-scale data systems. Her work emphasizes optimizing healthcare resource allocation, evaluating cost structures in clinical interventions, and applying big data methodologies to assess access and quality disparities.
