Kisha N Daniels is an Assistant Professor of the Practice of Education at Duke University's Education Program since 2021. Previously held roles include Instructor (2017–2021) and Adjunct Instructor (2017) in the same program. She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2005), complemented by master's degrees in school counseling, administration, and a specialist certification in curriculum and instruction.
Her research focuses on service-learning pedagogy, historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and fostering equitable educational environments. Notable work includes analyzing HBCUs' community engagement history and strategies to enhance resilience in underrepresented student populations.
Teaching specialties include critical pedagogy of hip hop, social justice in education, and secondary teaching practices. Recent courses span hip hop's role in education, equality-focused schooling frameworks, and teacher preparation methods. Professional activities include leading the Bass Connections project to strengthen Durham Public Schools partnerships with local universities.
