Kiseo Chung is an Assistant Professor in Finance at the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University since 2017. He specializes in behavioral finance, mutual funds, and hedge funds with a focus on market efficiency and investment strategies. Chung holds a PhD in Finance from Emory University (2017), an MS in Finance from the University of Rochester (2010), and a BS in Economics from Yonsei University (2009).
His research explores topics such as passive fund management dynamics, CEO decision-making biases, and technological impacts on market quality. Notable works include analyzing hedge funds' timing of informed trading and examining how passive fund growth affects active stock selection opportunities. Chung actively serves on academic committees, including the Financial Management Association’s program committee and the Korea America Finance Association.
Teaching responsibilities include PhD programming courses, master’s-level security analysis, and undergraduate investment courses. His service roles include organizing the Lone Star Finance Conference and serving as secretary of the Texas Tech Korean Faculty Association.
