Kirsten Dellinger is Professor of Sociology and Associate Dean for Access and Strategic Initiatives at the University of Mississippi, affiliated with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts. She is actively engaged in research on gender and sexual inequality in organizations and serves on national boards and editorial committees promoting gender equity in sociology.

Her research focuses on gender, sexuality, and work, with a methodological emphasis on qualitative approaches. She explores how workplace culture intersects with identity to shape professional opportunities, particularly through comparative case studies in contrasting organizational environments such as feminist and men's pornographic magazines. Her work contributes to feminist organizational theory and critical studies of professional inequality.
She has been actively involved in advancing gender equity through leadership in the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies, the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Women, and Sociologists for Women in Society. She serves on the editorial boards of Gender & Society and Social Problems, and is a member of the Council of the Sex and Gender section of the American Sociological Association.
