Kirsi Valkama

Kirsi Valkama is an Adjunct Professor in Biblical Studies at the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Theology. She specializes in Old Testament Exegesis, Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology, and the intersection of biblical texts with material culture. Valkama has held roles including Academy of Finland Researcher (2012–2014) within the Galilee in the Iron Age project and participated in the CSTT Centre of Excellence (2014–2019). Her research focuses on textual analysis, archaeological material interpretation, and ancient Mediterranean religious practices.
