Kimiz Dalkir is Director & Associate Professor at McGill University's School of Information Studies. She holds a PhD in Educational Technology from Concordia University, an MBA from McGill in Management Science & MIS, and a BSc in Biology (Human Genetics) from McGill. Her research focuses on knowledge management, tacit knowledge preservation, organizational learning, and combating misinformation in digital ecosystems. Current projects include applying KM to digital heritage preservation and analyzing social media's role in knowledge sharing.
Dr. Dalkir has supervised six graduate students and led grants such as the CSCDS Centre for Social and Cultural Data Science (2017-present) and Oxfam Quebec's organizational storytelling initiatives. Her work spans 30+ peer-reviewed publications, including seminal texts like Knowledge Management Theory and Practice (MIT Press, 2017). She actively speaks on post-truth challenges and KM's societal role, delivering keynotes in Turkey and France. Her research integrates AI, analytics, and governance frameworks to address modern knowledge challenges across academia, industry, and communities.
Labs/Teams: Member of McGill's Knowah Research Group and affiliated with interdisciplinary initiatives like the 24 Hours of Innovation collaborative design platform. Current research emphasizes KM in French-speaking innovation ecosystems and cross-cultural collaboration networks.
