Dr. Kimberly Sue is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Program in Addiction Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She holds dual board certifications in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Previously, she served as Medical Director of the National Harm Reduction Coalition. Her current roles include attending physician at APT Foundation’s Central Medical Unit and supervisor of Yale’s Addiction Medicine Fellowship program. She also leads the Yale Addiction Medicine Consult Service. Dr. Sue earned her MD-PhD from Harvard University, with a PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology. Her research focuses on harm reduction, gender disparities in substance use, and overdose prevention strategies. Notable work includes her book Getting Wrecked: Women, Incarceration, and the American Opioid Crisis (2019), examining opioid use disorder among incarcerated women.
