Kimberly Laux serves as an Academic Advisor/Counselor and Lecturer II in the Department of Language and Communication at the University of Michigan-Flint's College of Arts, Sciences and Education. With over 15 years of institutional experience, she teaches core communication courses while guiding student academic pathways through formal advising until 2023.

- M.A. in Communication & Multimedia, Saginaw Valley State University (2002)
- B.A. in Communication, University of Michigan-Flint (1999)
Her professional focus integrates Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, and Business Communication with Writing and Mindfulness practices. She emphasizes communication's interdisciplinary connections to psychology, business, arts, and technology, fostering reflective learning through experiential methods. Her teaching philosophy stems from personal discovery of communication's unifying role across disciplines.
As Academic Advisor (2015-2023), she developed student support frameworks within the Language and Communication department. She currently instructs COM 200 (Introduction to Human Communication) and COM 210 (Introduction to Public Speaking), while maintaining professional engagement through freelance writing projects and community health/fitness initiatives.
