Kimberly Jensen is a Professor of History and Gender Studies at Western Oregon University. Her research focuses on gender history, civil liberties, and the early 20th century, with a particular emphasis on Oregon’s historical context. She has authored influential books such as Oregon’s Others (2024), Oregon’s Doctor to the World (2012), and Mobilizing Minerva (2008), which explore topics ranging from surveillance state policies to transnational medical activism.
Her work has been recognized with awards including the Joel Palmer Award (2008 and 2018), the Charles DeBenedetti Prize, and a finalist nod for the Oregon Book Awards. Jensen collaborates with the Oregon Women’s History Consortium on projects like the Oregon 2020 initiative, commemorating the 19th Amendment centenary.
Recent speaking engagements include book signings and lectures on topics such as gendered white supremacy and civil liberties. Her research bridges historical analysis with contemporary relevance, examining systemic inequities and the resilience of marginalized communities.
