Kimberly Jenkins serves as Assistant Professor of Fashion Studies in the School of Fashion at Toronto Metropolitan University. Previously, she lectured at Parsons School of Design and Pratt Institute.

Professor Jenkins specializes in fashion history and theory with a focus on race, representation, and cultural awareness within fashion systems. She is renowned for creating the groundbreaking 'Fashion and Race' course and exhibition that challenges narrow historical narratives. Her research drives systemic change through initiatives like The Fashion and Race Database—an open-source platform expanding fashion history discourse and combating misrepresentation.
Kimberly has advised major institutions including Gucci, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Centraal Museum, and The Met Costume Institute. She curated exhibitions such as 'Fashion and Race: Deconstructing Ideas, Reconstructing Identities' (2018) and contributed to 'A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes' (2018). As co-founding member of The Fashion Studies Alliance, she leads the 'Fashion & Justice' workshop series with Harvard's Jonathan Michael Square.
Her work has been featured in VOGUE International, Business of Fashion, The Washington Post, and academic journals including International Journal of Fashion Studies.
