Kimberly Dodson

Kimberly Dodson, Ph.D., is a Professor and Criminology Program Director at the College of Human Sciences and Humanities, University of Houston-Clear Lake. She combines academic leadership with 15 years of field experience as a Deputy Sheriff and Sexual Abuse Investigator. Dr. Dodson serves as Chair of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) Minorities and Women Section and received the ACJS Outstanding Mentor award in 2014.

• Education: Ph.D. in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania
• Professional Background: 15-year career in law enforcement and criminal justice

Her research focuses on correctional program evaluation and addressing the needs of offenders with special needs. Dr. Dodson teaches graduate and undergraduate courses including Prison and Society, Statistics, and Advanced Criminology.
